Skid Row is an American heavy metal band that was formed in 1986 in Toms River, New Jersey. The group achieved commercial success in the late 1980s and early 1990s with their first two albums "Skid Row" (1989) and "Slave to the Grind" (1991). The band's lineup during this peak period included lead vocalist Sebastian Bach, guitarists Dave "The Snake" Sabo and Scotti Hill, bassist Rachel Bolan, and drummer Rob Affuso. Their self-titled debut album was a major success, propelled by hits such as "18 and Life," "I Remember You," and "Youth Gone Wild." The follow-up album, "Slave to the Grind," showcased a heavier sound and became the first heavy metal album to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart in the era of SoundScan.
