Pioneering Punk Rock Band from the 1970s

Richard Hell & The Voidoids were an influential American punk rock band, formed in 1976 in New York City. The band was fronted by bassist, singer, and songwriter Richard Hell, who was a key figure in the early punk rock scene. Hell had previously played with seminal punk bands Television and the Heartbreakers before starting his own project. The Voidoids were known for their angular guitar work, courtesy of guitarist Robert Quine, and their raw, poetic lyrics.
