Milan Škampa (1928–2018) was a distinguished Czech violist, renowned for his work with the Smetana Quartet, one of the leading string quartets of the 20th century. He joined the quartet in 1956 and remained a member until its disbandment in 1989. Throughout his career, Škampa performed extensively and recorded a wide repertoire, ranging from classical to contemporary works. His contributions to chamber music were significant, and he was highly regarded for his musicianship and interpretative skills.
