Iconic R&B and Funk Group

The Commodores are a highly influential American funk/soul band that achieved major success during the 1970s and 1980s. Formed in 1968 while all the members were attending Tuskegee University in Alabama, the group originally signed to Motown Records and became one of the label's most successful acts. The Commodores' lineup included Lionel Richie, Thomas McClary, Milan Williams, William King, Ronald LaPread, and Walter "Clyde" Orange. They are known for a string of hits including "Easy," "Three Times a Lady," and "Brick House."
