Zombie Club presents its fourth sonic artifact after the successful albums "Come to the Caribbean", "Mambo Calypso" and "Limbo". The concept is again clear and simple: to embark on an imaginary sonic voyage to the islands, ports and mountains of the Caribbean through rhythms and dances that recreate the tropical atmosphere that brings the holiday spirit of these countries around the world. This time we start with a strange calypso / son performed by (Cuban) Wilson and his Combo on electric guitar, followed by a few West Indian tunes such as calypso, Haitian meringue, quelbe, mento and goombay... These rhythms are sung in English, but they represent the sparkling presence of the "clave" (a wooden mallet born in Cuba) that sets the rhythm on which the entire musical structure is based, not only in Caribbean music, but also in all music of African roots. This allows musicians who sing in different languages to share a primal and common musical home. Side B focuses on tunes sung in Spanish, featuring montunos, bombas and cumbias from Cuba, Puerto Rico and Colombia. However, we have chosen doo-wop/mambo as a conclusion to show that Caribbean music is not limited to this particular geographic region. That's right, we make our way around the Caribbean in Cuba to arrive in the US, singing in different languages with different rhythms, but finding a pulse that is common to all: the "clave". Well, it's okay, we don't want to theorize too much, it's about moving our hips and enjoying ourselves... That's why we're telling you, once again: Ay, sí, sí... we want mambo! Senor Zombie. Some tracks have been remastered and restored and some are being presented on vinyl after many years. A format and selection designed for DJs, collectors and the general public.
