It is the work of two musical legends who have come together to celebrate jazz music and the genre's greatest milestones. "Cheek To Cheek" is a collaborative project between Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett that spans multiple generations of artists and brings together several new interpretations of jazz classics and standards, both sung as duets and solos. The album features some of the best moments from the Great American Songbook - including "Anything Goes," "It Don't Mean A Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)," "Sophisticated Lady," "Lush Life" and "Cheek To Cheek," the title track of this LP. The two worked extensively on the collaborative album, which was recorded in New York, for over a year. Musicians who contributed to the recording included members of the Bennett Quartet, pianist Tom Lanier and jazz trumpeter and Lady Gaga's longtime creative partner Brian Newman. Other jazz soloists include tenor saxophonist Joe Lovano and flute virtuoso Paul Horn, who died in early July.
