The B-52s' second album was released in 1980, and if anyone claims that the band never achieved the sound and importance of their first album, that's only partially true. On Wild Planet, the B-52s may not have been as experimental, but they were able to handle their instruments better and dared to play faster songs. The result is another great record with a totally dance party sound and some crazy ideas. The song "Private Idaho" integrates the melody from the title song of the TV show "Twilight Zone" and with Devil in my Car, serious consideration should be given to the immediate revocation of the B-52s driver's license due to lack of mental maturity.
