This 3CD-Set contains all five LPs released by the German electronic-rock band TANGERINE DREAM between 1974 and 1978 on Virgin Records: "Phaedra" (1974), das internationale Breakthrough-Album, das Platz 15 in den britischen Album-Charts erreichte; "Rubycon" (1975), das geradezu euphorisch aufgenommene Zweitwerk; "Ricochet", mit Aufnahmen der 75er-Europa-Tour aufwartendes Live-Album; "Stratosfear" (1976), das mit seiner Kombination aus Elektronik und akustischen Instrumenten neue Klangspektren eröffnete; schließlich "Cyclone" von 1978, auf dem erstmals Gesangsstimmen Verwendung fanden. Zusätzlich zu hören sind hier einige seltene Singles und Edits sowiei zwei rare Radiospots. This set collects five LPs that Tangerine Dream recorded for Virgin Records between 1974 and 1978. It includes the following albums: 1) Phaedra (1974) - their internationally groundbreaking album (reaching number 15 in the UK charts). 2) Rubycon (1975) - their well-received second album, on which they used then revolutionary technology such as electronic organs, Moog synthesizers and Mellotron keyboards and other instruments. 3) Ricochet (1975) - contains concert footage from their 1975 European tour, where they often improvised. 4) Stratosfear (1976) - by combining acoustic instruments with their traditional battery of electronics, the trio created a more melodic sound. 5) Cyclone (1978) - A significant change in direction from their previous instrumental recordings, the group took a more progressive direction, which not only meant the departure of Peter Baumann, but also the addition of vocalist Steve Jolliff and percussionist Klaus Krieger. These five highly influential albums are complemented by rare singles and 7'' editions, as well as two rarely heard period radio commercials.
