"Daddy's Home," the sixth album by Annie Clark, aka St. Vincent, is the latest facet of an ever-evolving artist that many consider to be the most innovative and exciting phenomenon in modern music. Annie Clark made her debut in 2007 with the song "Marry Me." Her subsequent albums have grown in significance and complexity, garnering critical acclaim, and her commercial success has surpassed that of her predecessors, including "Actor" (2009), "Strange Mercy" (2011), and her fourth album, which won the 2014 GRAMMY Award for Best Alternative Album, making St. Vincent only the second artist ever to be honored in this category. In addition to these solo tracks, St. Vincent has also performed with other artists: for example, she collaborated on an album with David Byrne ("Love This Giant," 2012), performed as lead singer and guitarist for Nirvana's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (2014), and performed a duet with Dua Lipa at the 2019 GRAMMY Awards. In collaboration with co-producer Jack Antonoff, she made a major statement with 2017's "Masseduction"; this album, as ambitious as it was accessible, propelled St. Vincent into the Top 10 of the US and UK charts and ranked #1 on the New York Times "Best of 2017" list.
