One of the most successful jazz artists of his generation, singing sensation and Grammy winner Gregory Porter is releasing his album All Rise on April 17. The album's flagship single is currently the track Revival, which, among other things, pays tribute to Freddie Gray, who was a victim of police violence against African-Americans. The album was produced by Troy Miller, who has worked with Calvin Harris, Rag'n'Bone Man and Amy Winehouse to name a few.All Rise follows the success of Nat King Cole & Me, which pays tribute to Gregory's great inspiration jazz musician and singer Nat King Cole and charted at number three in the UK charts. On his latest album, however, Porter returns to his classic style of songwriting, which is a mix of jazz, soul, blues and gospel, but becomes more emotive, more empathetic and much more intimate.Gregory Porter has captivated audiences above all with his warm soul voice. "When I was a kid, my own voice used to soothe me. I think people like listening to me because my voice has the same effect on them. I'm trying to heal myself with my songs," explains Gregory, who won a Grammy for Liquid Spirit and Take Me to The Alley and has gone on to become one of the biggest and most sought-after names on the jazz scene. Porter regularly sells out concerts and is invited to appear on prestigious television shows such as The Graham Norton Show and the BBC Music Awards. He has become an adopted treasure of Britain, singing for the Queen herself on several occasions and performing at major music festivals such as Glastonbury, and his ability to cross and fuse genres has led him to create one of Ibiza's most popular dance tracks, Liquid Spirit - The Claptone Remix.
