The Black Eyed Peas are undoubtedly one of the best and most successful hip-hop groups today. The Black Eyed Peas were formed in Los Angeles in the early 1990s when will.i.am and apl.de.ap met in high school and worked together in the breakdancing formation Tribal Nation. A few years later they added a new member, MC and dancer Taboo. With this lineup, they recorded two albums - the first Behind The Front in 1998 and Bridging The Gap two years later. Both albums were received very positively, especially by critics, but it wasn't until 2003 that more significant sales success came with the involvement of the beautiful and sexy singer and dancer Fergie (full name Stacy Ann Ferguson) and the release of the funk-hip-hop-dance-pop album Elephunk. Elephunk has sold over 7 million copies worldwide and has gone platinum in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It was also nominated for four Grammy Awards and the band took home one statuette. Four huge hits from the album (think Where Is The Love?, Shut Up, Hey Mama and Let's Get It Started) established The Black Eyed Peas as one of the essential bands for young listeners worldwide. In May 2005, The Black Eyed Peas released Monkey Business, which was again packed with hits (Don't Phunk With My Heart, My Humps, etc.) and won numerous awards. The album went platinum several times in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The album featured star guests - from Justin Timberlake, to the godfather of soul James Brown, to Sting himself.On 8 June 2009, the new, already fifth studio album The E.N.D.
