Ugly Heroes is a hip-hop group formed in 2013, consisting of Detroit-based rapper Red Pill (now known as Chris Orrick), Chicago rapper Verbal Kent, and Michigan producer Apollo Brown. The trio came together to create music that reflects on the struggles and perseverance of everyday life, often focusing on themes of hardship and survival. Their self-titled debut album "Ugly Heroes" was released in 2013 under the Mello Music Group label, receiving acclaim for its gritty storytelling and soulful production. The group's chemistry is evident in their cohesive sound, which combines Apollo Brown's signature boom-bap beats with the introspective and relatable lyrics of Red Pill and Verbal Kent. Following their debut, Ugly Heroes released an EP titled "Ugly Heroes EP" in 2014, further solidifying their presence in the underground hip-hop scene.
