British punk rock band

The Lurkers are a British punk rock band that emerged in the late 1970s during the first wave of punk. Formed in 1976 in Uxbridge, West London, they are often recognized for their straightforward, high-energy punk sound that was influential in the genre's development. The original lineup consisted of Pete Stride on guitar, Pete "Manic Esso" Haynes on drums, Howard Wall on vocals, and Arturo Bassick on bass. They were one of the earliest bands to sign with Beggar's Banquet Records and released their debut single "Shadow"/"Love Story" in 1977.
