Philip Bailey is an American R&B, soul, gospel and funk singer, songwriter, percussionist and actor, best known as one of the lead singers in the band Earth, Wind & Fire. Born on May 8, 1951, Bailey's distinctive falsetto voice has been a signature element of the band's sound. He joined Earth, Wind & Fire in 1972 and contributed to many of the group's hits throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Alongside his work with the band, Bailey has also had a successful solo career. He released his debut solo album "Continuation" in 1983 and followed it with "Chinese Wall" in 1984, which included the hit single "Easy Lover," a duet with Phil Collins. Over the years, Bailey has continued to release solo albums, including "Love Will Find A Way" in 2019. His work has earned him several Grammy Awards both as a member of Earth, Wind & Fire and as a solo artist. Bailey was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Earth, Wind & Fire in 2000.
