Peter Doherty is an English musician, songwriter, actor, poet, and artist. He is best known for being co-frontman of the indie rock band The Libertines, which he formed with Carl Barât in 1997. The band gained critical acclaim and commercial success in the early 2000s with albums such as "Up the Bracket" (2002) and their self-titled album "The Libertines" (2004). Following the band's initial breakup due to Doherty's personal struggles with substance abuse, he formed another band called Babyshambles, which released albums including "Down in Albion" (2005) and "Shotter's Nation" (2007).
