Romanian conductor, born 18th October 1946 in Brașov. Graduate of Universitatea Națională de Muzică din București, courses at the Academy of Music in Vienna under the direction of Hans Swarowsky and Karl Österreicher and in Trier & Munich with Sergiu Celibidache. 1974 to 1987 conductor of Orchestra simfonică a Filarmonicii din Ploiești Critics Award at the Berlin Biennale 1981 / UCMR award "Conductor of the year" 1997 / UNESCO award 2002 / Ordinul Național "Pentru Merit" în grad de Mare Cruce 2006 Founder and conductor of Orchestra de cameră „Virtuozii din București” Worldwide collaborations with orchestras, worked as 'permanent guest conductor' with 3 German orchestras: 1981-1993 Radio Orchestra Berlin 1983-1993 Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra 1979-1990 Staatskapelle Schwerin
