Finnish atmospheric doom metal band

Hallatar is a Finnish doom metal band formed after the death of Juha Raivio's life partner and Trees of Eternity's vocalist Aleah Starbridge. The band was created as a tribute to her and to give life to the lyrics and poems she left behind. Hallatar's lineup consists of Juha Raivio, also known for his work with Swallow the Sun, on guitar, Amorphis vocalist Tomi Joutsen, and former HIM drummer Gas Lipstick. Their debut album "No Stars Upon The Bridge," released in 2017, is heavily influenced by the themes of grief and loss, with a sound that is both heavy and atmospheric. The project serves as a deeply personal memorial and an artistic expression of mourning.
