George Whitefield Chadwick (1854–1931) was an American composer, part of the so-called "Second New England School" or the "Boston Six," a group of important American composers who were active around the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Chadwick's music was influenced by Romanticism, and he was known for incorporating American folk elements into his compositions, which helped to shape a distinctive American classical music style.
