Cream

British rock supergroup

Cream was a British rock power trio formed in 1966, consisting of bassist/singer Jack Bruce, guitarist/singer Eric Clapton, and drummer Ginger Baker. Their sound was characterized by a hybrid of blues rock, hard rock, and psychedelic rock. Cream is widely regarded as the world's first successful supergroup, with each member already having a reputation for their musical prowess before the band's formation. The group's third album, "Wheels of Fire" (1968), was the world's first platinum-selling double album. Cream is known for their improvisational live performances that often turned into extended jam sessions. Despite their critical and commercial success, Cream was short-lived; they disbanded in 1968 after just two years together. Their influence, however, has endured, and they are considered one of the most important bands in rock history. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.
