Arrested Development is an influential American hip-hop group that formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1988. The group is known for its Afrocentric lyrics and positive messages, and it was a pioneer in the alternative hip-hop movement of the early 1990s. Their debut album, "3 Years, 5 Months & 2 Days in the Life Of..." released in 1992, was a critical and commercial success. It spawned several hit singles, including "Tennessee," "People Everyday," and "Mr. Wendal," which helped them gain a substantial following. The album's title refers to the length of time it took the group to secure a record deal.
