German Romantic Composer

Anton Urspruch (1850–1907) was a German composer and pianist who is often remembered for his contributions to late Romantic music. He was a student of the esteemed composer Franz Liszt, which significantly influenced his musical style. Urspruch's compositions include a variety of works such as operas, symphonies, chamber music, and pieces for solo piano. His Piano Concerto in E-flat major, Op. 9, is one of his more notable works and showcases his skill in orchestration and his affinity for the Romantic idiom. Urspruch's Symphony in E-flat major, Op. 14, is another significant piece that reflects his command over larger forms and the symphonic tradition.
