Anekdoten is a Swedish progressive rock band, known for their distinctive sound that draws heavily from the dark and melancholic atmosphere of early 1970s progressive rock. Formed in 1991, the band consists of Nicklas Barker (vocals, guitar), Anna Sofi Dahlberg (keyboards, cello), Jan Erik Liljeström (bass), and Peter Nordins (drums). They quickly became a prominent figure within the progressive rock genre, especially noted for their use of the Mellotron, which adds a signature lush and orchestral texture to their music.
