The Mission, also known as The Mission UK in the United States, is a British gothic rock band that was initially formed in 1986 by frontman Wayne Hussey and bassist Craig Adams following their departure from the band Sisters of Mercy. The group quickly established themselves as a prominent act within the gothic rock scene with their debut album "God's Own Medicine" in 1986. Over the years, The Mission has been known for their atmospheric blend of swirling guitars and baritone vocals, which are often compared to contemporaries like The Cure and Siouxsie and the Banshees.
