Wardrun's fifth album, Kvitravn (White-Raven), picks up musically where the Runaljod trilogy left off, but represents a significant sonic evolution. The album features a wide selection of traditional and historical instruments such as the Kravik-lyre, Trossingen-lyre, Taglharpa, Sotharpa, Langeleik, Crwth, Goat-horn, Lur, Bronze-lur, Flute and Moraharpa. A small group of prominent traditional song singers will perform as guests, led by Kirsten Bråten Berg, one of Norway's foremost protectors of traditional song. In eleven songs, Kvitravn discusses Nordic magic, spirit animals, shadows, nature and animism, the wisdom and meaning of certain myths, various spiritual concepts of the Norwegians, and the relationship between sages and song.
