Radio was still coming up with big hits and new artists, rather than TV talent contests and the still nascent internet. And people were still rushing to the local record store to buy what their local station was playing, rather than streaming or downloading it - After a long period of successfully compiling anthologies of the US charts of the 50s, 60s and 70s, Ace is pleased to launch "Rockin' In The USA" this month, its first anthology of US Hot 100 hits from the 80s - 80s radio created hits for many new names. As was the case in earlier eras, many are still on the scene after 30 to nearly 40 years, while others' careers practically began and ended with their lone hit. Our earlier series have always included both famous and obscure personalities, and this is no different - we bring you nearly two dozen of the best American hits of this decade, presented as they originally sounded from FM pop radio stations across America. Many of them were also British hits, and all of them should have been. Present on "Rockin' In The USA" are some of the best 80s pop and rock songs you'll ever hear on a single CD. We are sure it will prove to be just as successful as its sister series "The Golden Age Of American Rock'n'Roll", "Chartbusters USA" and "The Hit List".
