Product information To mark the 50th anniversary of Stax's groundbreaking Hit The Road tour of the UK and Europe this month, Kent presents a second volume of previously unreleased Stax recordings from the company's 'blue' era (1960-68). Our first volume in the 'The Other Side Of The Trax' series was originally intended as a stand-alone project with no follow-up. The strong demand for further volumes - plus the fact that there were still many Stax masters to choose from - made the compilation of a second volume more of a formality. While the original idea was for B-sides, there is nothing even remotely inferior about any of the selected tracks - in fact, most of them might as well have been A-sides. Many of the biggest names ever to appear on Stax are represented here - several of whom have toured the UK and Europe many times over the years - as well as one or two of the most obscure names. All the tracks are taken from the original single masters, except one which had to be dubbed from the disc due to damage to the original tape. As none of these tracks were ever available on anything other than the original 45s, we expect 'More From The Other Side Of The Trax' to enjoy the same healthy sales and acclaim as its predecessor.
