Here the music was left to rot on its own, with no artistic visionary stepping in and trying to create a soundtrack to his pop art, and the Velvets filled that void with an album that is the sound of a subway car full of drunks, junkies and whores hurtling through the bowels of New York City with a one-way ticket to oblivion.
