The British singer and pianist returned to the stage for the first time in 35 years, playing a total of 22 sold-out concerts at London's famous Hammersmith Apollo. "Before The Dawn" is the title of a new live album that impressively documents this 2016 return. So it wasn't so much the concerts as the multimedia performances that were so exceptional that Kate Bush received the "Extraordinary Editor's Award" at the London Theatre Awards. It was the first time the award had ever been given to a contemporary musical performance. "Before The Dawn" contains a total of 29 songs divided into three acts, as well as the concert itself. The tracks include Bush classics such as "Running Up That Hill" and "Hounds Of Love", as well as more recent pieces such as "King Of The Mountain" and "Among Angels". The singer has been supported by musicians David Rhodes (guitar), Friðrik Karlsson (guitar), John Giblin (bass), Jon Carin (keyboards, backing vocals), Kevin McAlea (keyboards), Omar Hakim (drums) and Mino Cinélu (percussion) as well as various actors. The new live album was produced by Kate Bush herself. It is an authentic and undistorted recording with no additional recordings or edits added.
