Innerspeaker is the debut studio album by Australian psychedelic rock band Tame Impala , released on 21 May 2010 by Modular Recordings. The album was recorded by Kevin Parker at his home studio in Perth, Western Australia. Following the self-released Innerspeaker EP in May 2009, the album was picked up by Modular Recordings, who re-released it in June 2010. The album was well received by critics, who praised the band's psychedelic sound and Parker's production. The album was a commercial success, reaching number one in Australia and number eleven in the United Kingdom. Innerspeaker won the 2011 ARIA Award for Best Rock Album. The first single from the album, "Solitude Is Bliss", was released in March 2010 and reached number 32 on the Australian singles chart. The second single, "Why Won't They Talk to Me?", was released in August 2010 and peaked at number 67. The third and final single, "Lucidity", was released in November 2010 and peaked at number 89.
