Saxon released their eighth studio album "Rock The Nations" on October 13, 1986. It was recorded at Wisseloord studios in Hilversum, Holland, under the direction of Gary Lyons. Biff Byford, who coincidentally began his career as a singing bassist, played all the bass tracks on the album, but Paul Johnson is listed on the album as a bassist who joined the band shortly before its release. An unusual guest on Rock The Nations is Elton John, who plays piano on the tracks "Northern Lady" and "Party Til You Puke". This version includes radio cuts of the singles, several live B-sides and three tracks recorded by the BBC during Saxon's set at the Reading Festival in '86.
