On his eponymous album, the guitarist combines Latin with rock, blues-rock, psychedelia, jazz and soul to create his unmistakable rhythms. In August 1969, Carlos Santana performed at the legendary Woodstock Festival, bringing him to the forefront of the international music scene. The subsequent release of his LP Santana was a real hit. It stayed on the charts for more than two years and brought the twenty-two-year-old singer huge success with several million records sold. This fantastic disc, which should be a staple in any ambitious music collection, contains hits like Evil Ways and the great Jingo, not to mention Waiting and Soul Sacrifice!
