The recording process involved a small, hand-picked group of collaborators in various locations, from a friend's house in New Jersey to studios in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. There are many unique stories to be told about the songs on the Michael album. Through the songs, fans will gain a compelling insight into the artist's working methods and the opportunity to hear the songs he worked on up until shortly before his death and wanted to realize until the very end. "Breaking News" is a previously unheard Michael Jackson song on the new album, recorded in New Jersey in 2007 and recently completed. The accompanying album cover for "MICHAEL" was created in 2009 by artist Kadir Nelson. Kadir, who is known for telling stories through his paintings, takes us on a journey through the important stages of Michael Jackson's life in this oil painting.
