Marpo: Backwoods Bred Wersja na winylu LP w standardowe wydanie. Ta konkretna edycja została wydana w Czechy w wydawnictwie Universal Music dnia 20. grudnia 2021.
Respected rapper Marpo is releasing his new album Backwoods Bred as a Christmas gift to fans on vinyl !! He has already released 6 successful singles and music videos from it. The visuals draw us into the emotional atmosphere of the True Detective series and the musical combination of rap, country and blues offers an exceptional experience.Marpo is a prominent figure in the Czech hip hop scene as well as the mainstream. In 2018 he released his latest and most successful album Dead Man Walking, with which he sold out the O2 arena as TroubleGang. Today, the thirty-six-year-old rapper is taking the path of rap, country and blues and releasing a new album. The album was more than a year in the making, and parts of it were filmed in Louisiana and Mississippi, among other places. The local dark atmosphere perfectly mirrors the mood of the album and the artist. Backwoods Bred is an imaginative follow-up to Dead Man Walking, as evidenced by the now not only close producer collaboration with Marcus Tran and Clint Murphy. The album's 50-page booklet, designed by the proven graphic designer Ondřej "SHO" Havlíček, has also received a lot of attention, making it a work of art. Before the release of the album, after the successful singles Hillbilly and Bad Man, the 3rd single and the video Sinner were released, and at the same time with the release another new single In Flames. The album was created almost remotely, because the pandemic situation did not allow to meet the producers Marcus Tran and Clint Murphy. Marpo revealed that Clint was supposed to fly in from England, but the Czech side wouldn't let him into the country, so they worked remotely by sharing a lap top screen and the record was actually born over video calls. "It's a mixture of rap, country and blues. Marcus and I went to a lot of trouble, fine-tuning every detail, but that's what everyone says in their press releases, how they've been sitting on it for centuries:) I'll be happy if people judge it for themselves," says Marpo, praising the collaboration. "Marcus is a huge talent as a producer, he's got an incredible feel. We're connected like brothers, and I think it works great for us. "The Backwoods Bred album counts more than a year of intensive work. "Every single track is written down to the last detail. Every instrument, every 808 kick, every vocal, harmonies, etc. I have to admit that the spacing works great because we went back and re-arranged some of the tracks because we felt a little different after three months," the rapper explains.Marp is known to be a lover of Florida and the heat. The Louisiana and Mississippi landscape is where he was able to shoot the impressive music videos and visuals for the album. "The filming was done in the same places where Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey filmed," says Marpo, who plans to bring the dark atmosphere of the American locations to the stage for his fans.Musically, Ota Petrina aka Marpo was most influenced by his father, who was an accomplished composer and respected guitarist. However, he didn't like rap music, which makes Marpo all the more proud of the music he has matured into. "I had a creative crisis. The way we shot up to the pop artists, to the mainstream, after the O2 arena, it just kind of got awfully frustrating. Showbusiness. Then EDEN went bust because of the cover and that was it. But we did the first song Bad Man and I found that taste, that drive, that love for music again.
