Mark Knopfler is undoubtedly one of Britain's most successful musicians. With his home band Dire Straits, he established himself among the music's top in the 1970s, but for the last two decades he has been fully focused on his solo career. He's already lined up his eighth album for March this year...Mark has titled his new release Tracker and will release it on March 13. The songs for this album have been several years in the making and Knopfler himself adds that this is the record he is most satisfied with the result of his solo career to date. The production of the new album was done by himself, with the help of his longtime friend and former Dire Straits member Guy Fletcher. He also belonged to the group of musicians with whom Mark recorded the album in London's British Grove Studios.The Tracker collection will contain eleven songs in the basic version, but a deluxe edition with four extra bonus tracks will also be available. Die-hard fans will also be looking for a special box set in the shops, including a CD, an additional bonus disc, a DVD with exclusive material from the sessions, vinyl and a few other gifts, including art photographs.Mark Knopfler is one of those people who often presents his recordings on concert stages. After the release of Tracker he will not make an exception and already in mid-May he will embark on a several-month world tour with a performance in Dublin, during which he will play an incredible eighty-five concerts around the world.
