Marillion without the voice and person of the imposing two-meter frontman Fish, when former Europeans singer Steve Hogarth joined them in 1989, they simply became a completely different band, Marillion Mark II or 2nd, not inferior, but also different. Especially live, the quintet was always a treat to experience acoustically, as on the 6CD set "Early Stages: The Official Bootleg Box 1982-1987" released in 2008 with a lot of previously unreleased material - well, it's now unreleased, but at least there's now a double CD "Highlights" with fascinating concert clips from those legendary London venues "Marquee", "Hammersmith Odeon" and "Wembley Arena" or from the "Reading" festival in '83.
