Karel Gott died on 1 October 2019 in Prague at the age of 80, surrounded by his family. He seemed to have overcome his initial battle with cancer in 2015 well. He also performed again, but when it was revealed that he had leukemia, it seemed as if Karel Gott himself was gradually saying goodbye. Together with his 13-year-old daughter, Charlotte, he sang a song in which: "In all your ways I will continue to shine for you, my star". In retrospect, this is the sonic legacy of Karel Gott - well over 60 years after his first performances as a rock 'n' roll and jazz singer. In tribute to his work, Electrola is releasing a 5-CD box set "Danke Karel! Episode 2 (Rarities)". This is a carefully designed box with 9 complete albums from the 70's and early 80's that have not yet been released on CD. These albums have not been available for many decades. The re-release of these nine LPs on five CDs is therefore historically extremely valuable and essential for every Karel Gott fan. LPs "Von Böhmen in die Welt" (1971), "Zwischen Moldau, Don und Donau" (1972), "Meine Wolgamelodie" (1974), "Meine Donaumelodie" (1976) "Heut' ist der schönste Tag in meinem Leben" (1974), "Meine Sonntagsmelodie" (1976), "La Canzone" (1973), "Bella Italia" (1981) and the live album "Live - Das Konzert-Erlebnis" (1981) are now reissued in this high quality box set.
