In addition, the discs offered by Universal Japan are encoded with MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) technology. If you output a digital signal from the digital output of a CD player or a previously ripped data stream from a music server to the appropriate MQA-DA converter, you can generate a 24-bit signal from CD data with a sampling rate of up to 352 Khz. The current UHQCD series is based on the DSD data of single-layer SHM SACDs released by Universal Music Japan in previous years. This makes UHQCDs ideal for music lovers who want to get as close to the sound of a recording as possible but do not own a SACD player.
