2010 - The Year of John Lennon There are two important dates associated with this legendary musician: his 70th birthday on 9 October and the 30th anniversary of his dramatic murder in New York on 8 December. To mark the occasion, the biggest initiative to re-release John Lennon in 30 years will take place on 1 October under the universal slogan "Gimme Some Truth". All 8 of John Lennon's solo albums will be digitally remastered in 2010 (overseen by Abbey Road's own Yoko Ono) and released in deluxe digipacks (similar to the Beatles remasters). "Double Fantasy Stripped Down". As a result, "Double Fantasy Stripped Down" shows a whole new and charming side (CD1 Original Double Fantasy album remastered 2010/ CD2 Double Fantasy Stripped Down version). The stripped down 2CD version of "Double Fantasy" is not included in the John Lennon Signature Box and is only available separately: The Hits": The ultimate greatest hits package in remastered form. "Give Me Some Truth": a deluxe 4CD boxset of 72 songs for those who want more than just the best of. The CDs are thematically arranged: CD1 "Working Class Hero" shows John's committed side and collects his political songs, CD2 "Borrowed Time" contains songs with John's life wisdom, CD3 "Woman" are love songs and CD4 "Roots" shows the rock side of John Lennon's work. The elegant and simple white cube (dimensions: 18 cm x 18 cm x 18 cm) contains all 8 remastered studio albums in a deluxe digipack, 2 excellent bonus discs: all non-album singles collected on one CD (with songs like "Give Peace A Chance", "XMas War Is Over", "Instant Karma") and a bonus disc with rare studio outtakes and home recordings (mostly unreleased material!). The box is rounded out by an art print and hardcover book with new and partly very personal essays by Yoko Ono and her two sons Julian and Sean. Yoko Ono on Gimme Me Some Truth: "In this special year, when my husband would have turned 70, I hope the remasters will once again bring his incredible music to a younger audience. After remastering over 150 tracks from 8 exciting albums, I hope that his loyal fans who know his repertoire and work will rediscover John Lennon as a talented singer-songwriter and astute observer of life and our society."
