The healing music of Bach, Britten, Gubaidulina and Heta In the liner notes to her new album, Greek guitarist Smaro Gregoriadou writes that the music on it is meant to spread "courage and hope" and shine with "a different light, a different fire". The album opens with a successful transcription of Bach's second solo violin sonata and then offers pieces by Gubaidulina and Heta and Britten's fascinating "Nocturne". Raymond Tuttle, in a review of an earlier release, aptly wrote: "Gregoriadou's willingness to seek new ways of expressing and enlivening music recalls musicians such as Vladimir Horowitz, Glenn Gould and Wanda Landowska."
