14 live albums is not too many Joe Bonamassa is a live musician through and through. This is evidenced by the fact that the blues rocker has released 13 live albums, which is almost as many as studio albums. However, "Live At Radio City Music Hall," the 14th album on the list, is also brand new and cannot be compared to its predecessors. As the title suggests, Joe Bonamassa performed two nights in a row at Radio City Music Hall in New York City in January 2015, a special place for the guitarist, himself a New Yorker, who recently described the concert hall as the most beautiful in the world. Before him, well-known artists such as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Ray Charles, B. B. King and Stevie Wonder - so it was the perfect place for the finale of his year-and-a-half world tour and to record his concerts. Approximately 10,000 people were in attendance for the live performance of the musician, who played many of his hits, such as "Different Shades Of Blue" and "Happier Times," and some cover versions, such as Jimi Hendrix's "Hey Baby" and Muddy Waters' "I Can't Be Satisfied." Bonamassa also introduced two brand new songs, "Still Water" and "One Less Cross To Bear." The concerts on both nights consisted of two parts: one acoustic and one electrically amplified. The musician played the first one together with his band The Huckleberries. Violinist Gerry O'Connor, keyboardist Reese Wynans, percussionist Lenny Castro and Mats Wester on keyboard violin and mandolin had already accompanied Bonamassa on his "Acoustic Evening At The Vienna Opera House" (2012). The second part of the evening featured bassist Carmine Rojas, keyboardist Reese Wynans, drummer Tal Bergman, trumpeter Lee Thornburg, trombonist Nick Lane and saxophonist Paulie Cerra, Bonamassa's regular touring band alongside the guitarist. "Live At Radio City Music Hall" is a recording of these special performances. The CD and DVD or CD and Blu-ray offers more than two and a half hours of live performances, including seven songs never before released in a live version. In addition, a 45-minute behind-the-scenes video is available.
