There is no doubt that Jack White is one of the most dazzling, prolific and successful artists America produced in the 1990s. When the White Stripes first toured in 1997, no one, least of all their lead singer and guitarist, thought the garage blues duo in red and white would one day conquer the mainstream world. But no later than after the hit "Seven Nation Army" from 2003's "Elephant" album mutated into an international football stadium anthem, the White Stripes became deserved superstars. That wasn't enough for Jack White. Meanwhile, collaborations with Loretta Lynn, projects with the Raconteurs and Dead Weather, and his own record label (Third Man Records) took care of the entertainment - resulting in nine Grammys and millions of fans. The White Stripes broke up in 2011. Time for a solo debut, time for "Blunderbuss". The album was recorded at the band's own studio in Nashville, and musically at least the single "Love Interruption" has a quieter, richly orchestrated folk-rock feel.
