Three seven-inch vinyl singles featuring previously unreleased David Bowie recordings in one box! Following on from the four-single 'Spying Through A Keyhole' box, which will be released in April, Parlophone will continue its series of unreleased David Bowie demos with a 3x7 inch Clareville Grove Demos box. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of his first big hit 'Space Oddity', the box will feature a total of six home demos, four of which are previously unreleased. The box set of three singles documents the next stage of Bowie's early journey to fame and charts his evolution as an artist and songwriter. Recorded in January 1969 at David's flat in the Clareville Grove area of London, it features David in duo with John "Hutch" Hutchinson following the break-up of the Feathers Trio, which featured David's then-girlfriend Hermione Farthingale. The photograph on the front of the box and the print inside the box were taken by David's then manager Ken Pitt at the Clareville Grove apartment that David shared with Hermione. David's short haircut was still the result of a film role in "The Virgin Soldiers" and recalls his appearance from the "Berlin era" a decade later. Like the vinyl box of the "Spying Through A Keyhole" single, each single was designed the way David sent his demos to record companies and publicists: with handwritten song titles on EMIDISC acetate labels. All singles are monophonic and played at 45 rpm.
