It seems almost rude to label Celtic Frost as one of the greatest extreme metal bands, because they were so much more than that. Better to celebrate them as one of the best extreme and experimental bands of the 80s. The band always refused to do what was expected or required of them, constantly changing musical direction, bringing in surprising influences and keeping people guessing as to where they would go next.

Their catalogue of albums is impressive and unsurpassed. Each one is not only unique, but part of an entire tapestry that can only now be appreciated as a remarkable part of musical history. Despite - or perhaps because of - constant turbulence on many fronts, Celtic Frost have reached an artistic level undreamed of by others. They climbed high because they were never afraid to fall. That's why today the band is rightly regarded as an icon and iconoclast.

Only today is it possible to realise how far ahead of its time an album released in 1987 was. Not only did it have insane rhythms, but it also introduced electronic music to extreme metal. In every way it was a remarkable record full of visionary ideas and ideals.

This release includes alternate versions of songs from the album and a Dean Martin cover! The concept and art direction of the release was handled by Tom G. Warrior, the man behind Celtic Frost.
