This comprehensive anthology features music from Bob Dylan's legendary first "Rolling Thunder Tour" in 1975 on fourteen CDs. In addition to five professionally recorded and complete Bob Dylan concert sets, previously unreleased rehearsals from the tour at S.I.R. Studios in New York City and the Seacrest Motel in Falmouth, Massachusetts are included in the 14CD box set. Also included is a bonus disc of rarely played songs from that tour. In total, the box contains 148 songs, more than 100 of which remain unreleased. The enclosed 52-page booklet contains a number of previously unseen photographs and an essay by writer and musician Wesley Stace. Along with the 14-CD box set, "Bootleg Series Vol. 5" will be reissued as a 3-LP set with a 64-page booklet, which includes the "Rolling Thunder Tour" and has been a sought-after vinyl rarity since its initial release in 2002. Bob Dylan's "Rolling Thunder Revue" began in the fall of 1975 and was characterized by stopping primarily at smaller and unusual venues on the East Coast of the U.S. and Canada with rotating guest musicians. Joni Mitchell and poet Allen Ginsberg, for example, have added their participation to the concerts. Bob Dylan - "The Rolling Thunder Revue: The 1975 Live Recordings" accompanies Martin Scorsese's film "Rolling Thunder Revue - A Bob Dylan Story by Martin Scorsese", which will premiere on Netflix on June 12, 2019.
