Bob Dylan's 1966 world tour in one box Bob Dylan was just 25 years old when he embarked on a major tour of the UK, Europe, Australia and the USA with his band in 1966. To mark the 50th anniversary, the singer, songwriter and rock legend is releasing "1966 Live Recordings" in 2016, all the famous live recordings of those concerts in one box set, on no less than 36 CDs. On his concert tour, Dylan stopped in Sydney, Copenhagen, Belfast, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Paris, London, Pittsburgh and many other cities. Musical support was provided by musicians Robbie Robertson (guitar), Rick Danko (bass, backing vocals), Richard Manuel (piano), Garth Hudson (organ) and Mickey Jones (drums) - also known as The Hawks. For the White Plains and Pittsburgh shows only, Sandy Konikoff took over the drum part. The collected "1966 Live Recordings" songs are recordings from mixing desks, audiences and CBS Records. Only a few were released. All recordings have been extensively restored for release. The comprehensive "1966 Live Recordings" box set is accompanied by new liner notes by British journalist Clinton Heylin. With the song "Judas! From Forest Hills to the Free Trade Hall: A Historical View of Dylan's Big Boo", he also wrote a book about Dylan's 1966 world tour. Fans and collectors of Bob Dylan beware: "1966 Live Recordings" is a comprehensive set for those who want to experience the young singer-songwriter live again - at least on CD. In addition to "1966 Live Recordings," Columbia/Legacy 2016 is also releasing "The Real Royal Albert Hall 1966 Concert" - Bob Dylan's performance at the Royal Albert Hall on May 26, 1966 - on a double-CD and double-LP.
