The album "Benjamin Britten: War Requiem" from 1983 is a recording of one of the 20th century's most powerful choral works, the War Requiem, Op. 66. Composed by the renowned English composer Benjamin Britten, the piece was first performed in 1962 to mark the consecration of the new Coventry Cathedral, which was rebuilt after being destroyed during World War II.
